Italy tour swimming 2021, for an Italy increasingly inclusive
I imagined the project during the lockdown due to the covid 19 pandemic, inspired by the enormous difficulties experienced by people with disabilities and their families across the country.
The fragility of these people, and the families involved in their daily care, has greatly amplified the social and health effects of the epidemic. During this complicated and unexpected situation, politics has not been able to fully address the specificities of this world, leaving social cooperatives and voluntary organizations without indications regarding an intervention strategy capable of responding, with appropriate tools, to new challenges. thus exacerbating the isolation of families already heavily tried by pain.
In fact, and it is not easy to say, fundamental rights enshrined in the Constitution have often been violated, such as the right to health, freedom of care, education.
It is in the context of these principles that I thought, hoping to be able to achieve it next year, on the project “The Giro d’Italia swimming 2021, for an Italy increasingly inclusive”, which should take place from Ventimiglia to Trieste, following then 3,365 km in 182 stages. 182 Municipalities will be involved with which, starting from the sharing of the principles contained in the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, I hope to discuss the implementation of the PEBA, the plan to eliminate architectural barriers, already adopted by several Italian municipalities.
For the realization of this project I did not think of a fundraiser to support the various activities that I will need but to involve those sectors that thanks to their industrial, tourism and medical sports activities can contribute to its implementation.
I would therefore like to involve Confindustria Nautica because there will be a need for boats capable of escorting me along the coasts of our peninsula and also ask to present the event at the next Genoa Boat Show scheduled for the month of October.
I am also counting on Federturismo membership because I will need a series of structures and infrastructures to support activities such as conferences and meetings with local and promotional institutions.
I hope to involve CONI and Sports Medicine because surely I will need to be assisted daily, for the entire duration of the TOUR, by a medical health team to monitor my psychophysical status day by day.
I would also be very happy with the collaboration of the Italian Naval League, the Coast Guard, and the Port Authorities, strategic principals for the success of the initiative.
I hope to be able to get the attention above all of the Policy, in order to make the important disability legislation with which our country is endowed and of course it will be essential to be able to involve schools, associations and all civil society because only together can the goal of an increasingly inclusive Italy be achieved.
