The power to dream
When I started swimming around the world, as part of the project “Swimming in the Seas of the Globe, for a world without barriers and without borders” I did not imagine being able to land in the main institutions such as the United Nations and national ones such as the Chamber and the Senate of the Italian Republic, where many decisions are made, fundamental for people’s lives.
As well as, I did not imagine that I would have had the opportunity to meet personalities from the world of international scientific research or even less world-class sportsmen like Dino Zoff who, a few days ago, I was lucky enough to interview on behalf of a friend of mine, Iranian journalist Taranom. Keshavarz.

For this I want to thank, with sincere gratitude, the members of the Council of the Aniene Rowing Club both for the interest they have always shown in my project and above all for the concrete commitment with which they deal with the issue of disabilities in our club every day.
Every day the articles of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities are widely betrayed, paradoxically, by the countries that have ratified it, of which their respective governments are guilty distracted and quietly in default. Article 3 of the Convention is certainly the one most ignored: general principles: respect for intrinsic equality, individual autonomy, including the freedom to make one’s own choices, and the independence of individuals; non-discrimination; equal opportunities; accessibility; equality between men and women; respect for the development of the capacities of children with disabilities and respect for the right of children with disabilities to preserve their identity.
Improving the world is possible, necessary and right. We cannot and must not stop acting in this direction, every day.
